Creating the visual identity for Ofir, a food festival celebrating the diverse communities of Kozhikode, was an endeavour rooted in capturing the essence of cultural richness and culinary diversity. Our process commenced with an in-depth exploration of Kozhikode's history, focusing on its maritime trade and the cultural exchanges it fostered.
Inspired by the city's maritime heritage, we chose to depict an old dhow in the graphic, symbolizing the trade routes that brought a tapestry of cultures to Kozhikode. The design was crafted to resemble an old rubber stamp seal, adding a touch of authenticity and heritage.
The use of yellow in the design was deliberate, symbolizing the sun and spontaneity, reflecting the vibrant energy and warmth of the festival.
